At Torbridge Vets we offer a comprehensive range of surgery from routine neutering procedures to complex orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. We are one of the few practices offering the Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) procedure for the repair of cranial cruciate ligament rupture in dogs knees. This complex procedure offers a rapid return to good working function after this common debilitating injury. We also have the expertise to repair simple and complex fractures by a variety of techniques such as plating and external fixation. Soft tissue surgery offered includes exploratory abdominal surgery, urinary tract surgery, anal gland removal and much more.
We also carry out Laparoscopic procedures, including bitch spey’s, using our new up to date laparoscopic equipment at our Bideford Hospital.
All operations are conducted under strict sterile theatre environments. Veterinary Nurses assist with the procedures and monitor anaesthetics. The surgery team is led by Amanda Brown, who holds the coveted Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Certificate in Small Animal Surgery.
Eyes are very delicate and require immediate consultation with a veterinary surgeon if you are concerned. We encourage all clients to call at any time to confer regarding questions or concerns in relation to eye health. Torbridge offers comprehensive treatment of all common eye conditions. Many eye problems can often be resolved with conservative treatment, however, some conditions including glaucoma and corneal ulcers can quickly deteriorate and potential endanger vision. Some eye conditions can also be linked to other underlying disease states which may require attention and treatment.
