20% off neutering and 30% off neutering if your an HPC member!
It’s that time of year when the weather is warming up and Spring Fever is in the air. To better promote the benefits of neutering for our furry friends, Torbridge is offering a great value promotion this spring.
There are many reasons you should neuter your pets. It isn’t just the breeding aspect or the irritations of seasons or roaming and scrapping males. By neutering your pet, you massively reduce the risk of mammary or prostate cancers if neutered young. Bitches left entire are also at risk of a life threatening condition called pyometra, where an infection occurs within the uterus. We usually recommend neutering dogs from 6 months. Bitches we can do from 6 months and aim to do so mid way between seasons. Cats we can neuter from 5 months, however their seasons are not predictable. It is worth noting that cats become fertile very young and should not be let out until they are neutered.
Many myths surround the subject of neutering, such as it’s always best to let your bitch have one, this is not proven to have any physical or mental benefit for your bitch.
One thing that is not a myth, neutered pets are more likely to gain weight. We are hoping to counter that by raising awareness and give you a voucher at time of neutering for Mi-Pet or Royal Canin neutered food. Food intake must be reduced after neutering and many animals will need to come off of puppy or kitten food at this point. We will guide you at your check ups!
From the 10th of April to the 30th June 2017, we are offering 20% off neutering for dogs and cats. However, our healthy pet club members already receive this on their plan so we are bumping your discount up to 30% off!
For more information on our Healthy Pet Club please visit or contact one of our surgeries and speak to a member of staff or visit HPC Torbridge Vets.
All animals receive a free pre-operative check to make sure they are ready for neutering, inclusive post-operative pain relief, post-operative checks and bitches will receive inclusive intravenous fluids during the operation, which supports their vital organs throughout surgery and aids recovery. We will then invite you and your neutered pet back three months later for another free post neuter weight check, where a nurse can give further advice on feeding and exercise.
